Aldaia cheese factory
Ángel Mª López Azpilicueta and siblings Mirentxu and Imanol San Martín Ibarra are responsible for the Quesería Aldaia.
It is located in the town of Lezaun, at the foot of the mountain range Urbasa-Andia.
It is a family establishment, whose origins date back several decades. Sheep grazing has always been a central and active part of the family Azpilicueta and this vast experience enhances the combination of the perfection of tradition coupled with the most modern methods of work.
A family business
History
In order to adapt to modern times and new demands, they did an extensive reform of their installations in 2002.
Today Aldaia is regarded as an artisan cheese factory, which produces its cheeses with milk from their own herd, making cheese respecting the old way but using modern mechanical equipment.
We carry out guided tours of the cheese factory with cheese tasting or a shepherd’s menu meal
